ok here’s ur brand spankin fresh from the oven lineart
use that magic wand shit and select the area u wanna color first. smurf that mo up.
use the select pen and color in the areas the magic wand missed, so u get a nice even smurf
then u move onto a new layer below the lineart, and click the bucket tool. woah! suddenly he’s not a smurf no mo, and the blue area is suddenly all selected neat as can be. click that bucket tool made for lazy fucks like u and me
bam that is some nice and even skin color good on ya
another way i used to do which is easier for areas with a lot of lines is
use the ‘legacy pen’ aka binary on some versions of sai and just scrib that shit on a new layer below the skin. go crazy. go crazy like they told u not to in kindergarten. unleash that primal coloring demon inside you that always screamed to color outside the lines. set it free.
now go back to the lineart layer and magic wand the area outside your lines
go back to the color layer, and click the eraser tool. BAM SON THERE GOES ALL THAT CRAZY PRIMAL DEMON COLORING AND THAT SHIT IS STAYIN NEAT AND INSIDE THE LINES
and ofc there will be some strays that refuse to listen to The Man so in that case pick up your old friend the eraser and gently ease those motherfuckers back in place
